Teaching Practice Reflection:Week 2(August 5-9)

Teaching Practice Reflection: Week 2 (August 5th - 9th)

This week of my teaching practice was both enriching and eventful, as I balanced classroom lessons with broader school activities and special observances.

On August 5th, I had a substitution period in class 6C, where I engaged students with games. Their high energy and enthusiastic participation made the session enjoyable and effective. Later in class 8D, I introduced the topic of metamorphic rocks, explaining how they form through heat and pressure. The students were attentive and eager to learn.

August 6th was marked by a special morning assembly to commemorate Hiroshima Day. The assembly provided a moving tribute to the victims, encouraging students to reflect on the importance of peace and the lessons we can draw from history. In my class with 8D, I taught physical weathering, using examples to show how natural forces like wind and water wear down rocks. During a substitution period with 7D, I organized a word game that challenged students' language skills and was well-received by all participants.

On August 7th, I continued teaching in 8D, covering the topic of chemical weathering and explaining how chemical reactions cause rocks to break down or change. Later, I accompanied students from 7B for their PT period, which provided a refreshing change of pace and allowed me to see how physical education complements their overall learning.

August 8th focused on historical reflection in preparation for Nagasaki Day. I volunteered to help with a poster-making competition centered on world peace and harmony. The students' creativity and their ability to convey meaningful messages through art were impressive. In 8D, I taught biological weathering, explaining how living organisms, such as plants and animals, can break down rocks.

The week concluded on August 9th with an assembly dedicated to Nagasaki Day, organized by the social science optional group. I assisted in coordinating the event, where students shared powerful messages on the importance of peace. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the poster-making competition, capping off a meaningful and engaging week. During my class 8D,I conducted diagnostic test  to assess students understanding of previous lessons. During  substitution period again  with my class in 8D, I taught about climate, topography, plants, and animals, integrating various examples to deepen their understanding.

Overall, this week provided a rewarding blend of teaching and active involvement in school events. It was a valuable opportunity to grow as an educator, build meaningful connections with students, and engage in impactful learning experiences.
