Teaching Practice Weekly Report – Third Week (12th August 2024 - 16th August 2024)

The third week of my teaching practice began with a special school assembly to observe Anti-Drug Day. An officer from the excise department delivered an insightful session on drug abuse and its detrimental health effects, which the students found highly informative and impactful. During the first period in Class 8D, I taught the topics of parent rock and time, engaging students with discussions and activities to deepen their understanding. Later, during the third period, I assisted with a PT session for Class 6D, providing an opportunity to connect with the younger students and encourage physical activity.

On Tuesday, I continued with my scheduled period in Class 8D, where I focused on the topic of soil degradation. I employed interactive teaching techniques to ensure students grasped the importance and implications of soil degradation in their environment. The school also hosted a poster-making competition in preparation for Independence Day. I volunteered to assist students, encouraging their creativity and patriotism through their artistic expressions.

It was heartwarming to witness students' enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment. Later, I had a substitution period in Class 6, where I conducted a quiz to keep the students engaged and reinforce their learning in a fun manner.

On the final day of the week, I began a new chapter on our government with a focus on the Rajya Sabha. I used charts and relevant examples to explain the structure and functioning of the Rajya Sabha, helping students understand its role in the Indian parliamentary system.

Overall Reflection
This week was a blend of teaching, extracurricular engagement, and important national commemorations. The experience allowed me to connect with students academically and emotionally, fostering a sense of community and collaborative learning. I look forward to building on these experiences in the weeks to come.
