Teaching Practice Weekly Report – Week 9 (October 14th–18th, 2024)
Monday, October 14, 2024
The ninth week of my teaching practice began with the morning prayer. During the first period, I taught Class 8D about the different types of maps, focusing on Surya. Later, in the fifth period, I had a substitution class with the same class, where I taught physical maps and cultural maps. The session was interactive, and the students participated actively, showing a keen interest in the topic.

The day began with morning assembly.
In Class 8D, I taught the concepts of small-scale maps and large-scale maps. The lesson helped students differentiate between the two types of maps and understand their applications in real-world scenarios.

During the first period, I taught map scales in Class 8D. In the fifth period, I had a substitution class with 8D, where I introduced the topic of directions in maps, helping students understand the importance of cardinal directions and how to use them accurately.

The day began with a morning assembly. During the third period in Class 8D, I conducted an achievement test to assess students' understanding of the topics covered so far. In the seventh period, I had a substitution class where I taught signs and symbols used in maps, emphasizing their importance in reading and interpreting maps effectively.
Friday, October 18, 2024
During the second period, I distributed the marks and provided guidance on the achievement test in Class 8D. Since it was my last day at school, I gave sweets to the children and collected their feedback about my teaching. The students expressed their gratitude and shared their positive experiences, which made the day memorable.
Reflection
This week was a significant milestone in my teaching practice. I was able to cover a variety of topics related to maps, ensuring that students gained a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The interactive classes, combined with assessments and feedback, helped me evaluate my teaching strategies and their effectiveness. The students' active participation and positive feedback were encouraging, making this week a rewarding experience.
